Headlight Restoration with RestorFX

Most modern headlights are made from polycarbonate plastic, not glass. While that material is strong and impact-resistant, it comes with one major weakness: it doesn’t age well without protection. Manufacturers apply a clear UV-resistant coating to the surface when the vehicle is new, but over time that coating breaks down from constant sun exposure, road debris, and harsh weather.

Once that protective layer starts to fail, the plastic underneath is exposed to ultraviolet (UV) rays. This triggers a chemical reaction (oxidation) that causes the surface to become cloudy, dull, and eventually yellow. Add in contaminants like dirt, salt, and pollution, and the deterioration accelerates. The result isn’t just cosmetic; oxidized headlights scatter light instead of projecting it forward, significantly reducing nighttime visibility and safety.

That’s why headlight restoration isn’t just about looks, it’s about restoring clarity, performance, and protecting the surface from further damage.

Just like RestorFX for paint finishes, FX Headlight is a two-part restorative solution for automotive lights across all kinds of lens strength and UV-resistance.

Cloudy headlights and taillights result in the loss of both functional and aesthetic clarity, as well as cause safety issues when driving at night or low-visibility conditions. FX Headlight repairs and restores these lights by removing dullness and oxidation while adding a permanent protective layer onto the lens, dramatically improving appearance and functionality, and contributing to overall road safety.
