Vehicle Cleaning Guide

Keeping your vehicle clean is essential for both aesthetics and maintenance. A clean vehicle not only looks good and makes you feel good about what you are rising in, but also helps protect the paint and interior. Here’s a comprehensive guide to cleaning your vehicle.

Exterior Cleaning

Start with a thorough wash using a quality car shampoo. Rinse off any dirt and grime preferably with a pressure washer. Rinsing off the car before you start removes surface debris from the paint gently and will prevent micro scratching. Be sure to keep the pressure washer tip at least a foot away from the surface of the car.

If a foam cannon is available, foam the entire body of the car and let the foam sit on the paint for a few minutes, then rinse the foam off using a pressure washer. This lifts any loose dirt that did not rinse of the first time. Now foam cannon the car once more and spray the rims and tires using a rim and wheel cleaner and let it sit, we will comback to cleaning later. Use a microfiber cloth or a wash mitt to agitate the foam. Be sure not to use too much pressure to avoid micro scratches.

Once the car has been scrubbed thoroughly, rinse off the body, wheels and tires. If you notice some spots are still dirty, now is the time to use the same mitt to clean that area off and rinse again.

Spray the wheels and tires once more but now use a brush or microfiber towel to clean the break dust of the wheel. Rince each wheel before you move on the next wheel.

Dry your car using a thick microfiber towel and again, do not use pressure. let the towel soak the water off the car.

Waxing

After washing, apply a coat of wax to protect the paint and give it a shine. Waxing helps repel dirt and water, making future cleaning easier. Use the instructions on the waxing product as each the instructions will vary by brand and type of wax.

Interior Cleaning

Dust off the dash, consoles, and doors with a towel allowing any debris to fall to the floor of the car. Vacuum the interior to remove dust and debris. Use appropriate cleaners for the dashboard and upholstery. Do not spray cleaning solutions directly to the surface, instead spray the towel first. Use a dry towel to clean off any residue. Consider using a steam cleaner for deep cleaning.

Windows and Mirrors

Clean the windows and mirrors with a glass cleaner for a streak-free finish. This enhances visibility and safety while driving. Consider using two clean towels for this process, one to clean the glass, the second to dry the glass. This will remove any streaks.

Conclusion

Regular cleaning not only keeps your vehicle looking new but also helps maintain its value. Follow this guide to ensure your vehicle remains in pristine condition.
